Seven Seas Water reports normal water production

Feedwater header and MMF face pipe skidsPoint Blanche – Seven Seas Water quickly resumed its regular production of water for St. Maarten after the passing of Category 5 hurricanes Irma and Maria. The company suffered minimal damages to its water production plants in Point Blanche, Cay Bay and Cupecoy through a combination of sound facilities construction and comprehensive storm preparation based on many years of successful operation in the Caribbean.  Seven Seas Water is proud to report that it is meeting the water production requirements for its client.

No damage to company production plants after hurricane

Seven Seas Water has a proven track record of reliably producing water to the people of St. Maarten.  Since the arrival of Seven Seas Water in St. Maarten in 2007, the company has worked with the Government of St. Maarten and GEBE to substantially increase its production capacity to meet rising demand with no capital outlays from the Government. Currently, the combined water production capacity of the three plants is approximately 22,000 cubic meters per day, over twice the capacity in 2007.  The total installed capacity is based on the anticipated growth on the island and guaranteed volume contracted, which provides redundancy for maintenance without discontinuing supply to consumers.

“We are proud of the fact that, by working with GEBE and the Government to anticipate the increasing water demand, citizens of St. Maarten did not experience any water shortage while some other islands in the Caribbean were facing water rationing due to the prolonged drought conditions in the region,” says Franklyn Richards, Seven Seas Water Managing Director for St. Maarten.  “We are grateful for the opportunity to play an active role within the community in the reconstruction of St. Maarten, while focusing particularly on the daily needs of the country and its residents”, he adds.
